Old Geelong Road

Description:
The level crossing on Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing was removed in December 2021, with a new road bridge that directly connects Old Geelong Road to Princes Highway, creating safer and more reliable journeys. The new overpass at Hoppers Crossing Station opened for use in February 2022, providing a safer connection over the rail line for pedestrians, cyclists and rail passengers.

Works involved:
-Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete of piles, piers, stair beams and landings, splade stairs, suspended slab, bondek slab and lift shafts.
-Install of precast stairs and beams.

Equipment and efficiencies utilised:
Site & project engineer, site foreman dedicated to site with presents of company owner for over 85% of the project to ensure coordination/communication and consistency of work quality was kept to the highest standard. Bridgecon designed and installed all temporary works at a very high standard to achieve Vic Roads and rail standards.
